2. Select object: Eye & Telescope provides several ways to find suitable objects. You can select all objects which are visible in your telescope at a specific time and location from a database with 130,000 entries.

3. Set your limiting magnitude: Eye & Telescope is the only software that can predict how an object will look like in your telescope. This calculation is based on the magnitude of the faintest stars still visible with the naked eye.

The result: Eye & Telescope uses color codes to show you how difficult it will be to see the object in your telescope. The view in the eyepiece is simulated, and you can find out which of your eyepieces is the best for this object and when is the best moment to look at your target.

4. Print the star-map: Eye & Telescope provides a convenient map mode. You can enter your target or let other nebulae and galaxies be displayed.

5. Show image: You can look at images of most objects of the NGC catalog.

6. Observing plan: Eye & Telescope puts together a complete observing plan for one night. It contains all the data and a finder chart.

7. Save your logbook: Eye & Telescope provides an extensive logbook function. Previously observed objects are marked in the star map and can be managed with many database functions.
